Why by Foedus-Stamps Why by Foedus-Stamps
I really can't explain this stamp without sounding like an ass, so I will.

I have a friend, he is gay, super flaming shat-out-the-sun gay. It pisses me off, but he's a mean partner in Call of Duty, so he's cool in my book.

ANYWAY. The problem with him, is he uses 'I'm GAY' before every freaking opinionated sentence. 'I'm gay, and I don't like that', 'I'm gay, and this is gross', 'I'm gay, and I don't like meat', etc, etc. You can tell when this is a bit annoying.

I've noticed at the gay bar a few others do it too. I don't know if it's the area, but holy shit, if you have to announce you're GAY in a GAY bar, you know something is wrong. Jeez...

It's like the non-white individuals waving the racist card so they could be jerks. Or women waving the misogynist card so they could be jerks. Or the self diagnosed "autistic" individuals waving their diagnosis so they could be jerks. Or elderly people waving their age so they can be jerks.

Guess what? Equality mean if you do something, you're held responsible for it. No matter who you are.

Things always get turned around. Now straights are the devil, and gays are the angels.

But yeah, gays are not perfect. Just because you're gay, doesn't mean you don't have to work, and it doesn't mean that everyone on earth has to be nice to you.

If a gay acts like an asshole and you call him/her out, chances are you'll be made out as a homophobic, biased, discriminatory asshole. Which is complete bullshit. But hey, the same thing is happening with blacks.

Because liberals are fucking stupid. They are stuck in the 1960s and equate everything to the Civil Rights Movement of that decade. Michael Sam was the next Jackie Robinson -- only Jackie Robinson had talent and Michael Sam didn't even play a fucking game.

I agree. Just look at all of these dA pages where people boast about their sexuality orientation and/or their relationship status...

Nobody gives a fuck about it.

I sincerely hate how when I ask people politely to stop constantly exclaiming how gay they are and literally making a contest of it, my friends call me biased. I never really cared about people's sexualities, but it's when they either changed it every 5 seconds or exclaimed that they were, in fact, GAY, that I started getting pissed.
Hell, I spent a long time actually thinking I was homophobic because I was being called it so often for asking people to stop telling me what they were.

I think a recent case was when I asked someone at a livestream who was a 20 something year old man calling a 14 year old girl (he thought I was a dude) "hun" and "love" because it made me uncomfortable. I said "____, could you please not to refer to me as 'hun' anymore? I'm sorry, but it makes me a bit uncomfortable to be called that by someone 10 years older than me. And you don't have to say you're gay in your username, replies, and comments, it's unnecessary and we don't mind what you are."
NOPE, APPARENTLY I DID SOMETHING WRONG. THEIR REPLY?
"JUST BECAUSE I'M GAY DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO HATE ME!! GOD, EVERYONE HATES ME JUST BECAUSE I'M GAY!"
I later asked people what I said wrong, and they said I "had no right to ask him to stop since I didn't run the livestream" and was "biased" for asking him to quit advertising his sexuality and since he's SO OBVIOUSLY gay, it's okay for him to call me those things without penalty.

That's fucking ridiculous. I don't care if you're gay, straight, or a trigender pyrofox, if you ask me to stop saying something around you, by golly I'm gonna do it. They should treat people who don't want them advertising their "gayness" everywhere the same way and acknowledge they've taken it a bit far.</slightlyoff-topicrant>

Thank you for making this stamp.
Thank you so much.
I think as a test, I'm going to start advertising everywhere that I am straight for a short period of time just to see what people's reactions are. I think I'll especially watch out for my friends who label all their deviations "I'M TOO GAY FOR THIS" or "I'M THE GAY KING" or something so I can ask them why they think it's okay if they do it.

You don't even know how many people I know who have done this or still do this. I'm happy that you're proud of yourself, but sometimes I feel like people use that to attract attention to themselves. I'm fine with people mentioning this on their profile, because obviously, it's their profile and they can decorate/edit it how they would like. (For the most part.) Other then that, okay. You're gay. Who cares? Why do you tell people every five or so seconds?

Having a sexuality is really nothing to brag about. I support people of different sexualities and all, but you don't have to tell me your orientation in every sentence =.= We get the point! There's so much more to people than an orientation :3 I focus more on their personality and how they treat others.

As much as I should accept them as apart of society, I totally agree with you and this stamp. I don't know why they have to announce it every 10 seconds, seriously. We don't see straight people going "I'm proud to be straight!" and hold an annual parade with single color balloons and making out. Sexuality is something to keep to ourselves, if they want people to accept them, be more quiet about it and stop shoving it down our throat!

Especially when the parade has people FUCKING NAKED! There's a law against public nakedness (well, I think there is). In CA, the San Fran gay parades have the gay people parading naked. No one sane wants to see these people naked.

Well, with some, it's because it makes it easier for other people when it comes to romance. I mean, my gaydar sucks, so it would be easier for me if that were the case XD But all joking aside, there's also self-affirmation. In a world where everyone assumes heterosexuality, straight people don't really have to worry about people thinking otherwise with them, while many queers do.
I still think that some people have a tendency to overdo it though, probably out of fear that they will be back in the closet if they allow someone time to assume them heterosexual. -shrugs-
Sorry, I was just trying to offer some possibilities, since it was technically a question. Brave of you though, to put your opinion on the matter out there. ^^

If their's a benefit to coming out at a young age (14, i'm 17 now) it's you get that "RAINBOW GAY GAY GAY GAY QUEER FAGGOTRY ALL MUST KNOW!" stage. Lately I just don't give a fuck anymore about my sexuality. It's some complex shit about needing to announce your identity, personally, shit like rainbows just piss me off nowadays (Unless by rainbow you mean Bifrost)

First of all, your icon changes directions when you look away from it for the shortest second. I swear it. I'm looking from it to the comment box. Damn...

Anyways, this ties into the black racists stamp. I say things that are cute, short, easy, and not too bad. Not too annoying. Like when people say "No homo." I hate that, so I say, "Totally homo, I just don't like you like that." or "Totally homo, because you're fucking ugly." Something along those lines. Or I throw a little comment in that's not offensive or extreme and just use it to make the whole thing more comfortable, if that makes sense. A lot of my friends were against homosexuality, but then I used little words and hints that made it easier to take in small amounts. Soon enough, it was all fine.

There IS a line, but it's also a thing you shouldn't be afraid to promote. If people see you can joke about homosexuality without using malice or offending, most people feel better about asking or exploring what homosexuality and the LGBT community are about. I try to open up myself to help others understand these things. So it can be good, but it can be annoying.

IMO, the reason a lot of people dislike the LGBT community are people that announce how gay they are and turn every conversation into something about being gay or gay rights.
Most people I have talked to have no issue with homosexuals, they just can't stand the 'I'm gay btw, in case you forgot, and I'm going to tell you 50 more times just to make sure you know that I'm gay, but being gay is not who I am.'
I know someone like this IRL and I can't really stand to be around him for more than a few minutes because every conversation is about how hard it is to be gay.

And what about the "I am Gay" journals stuff? I have lots of homosexual firnds, they're awesome. And I' am straight. I just don't have to throw this on everybody'sface as some people here do. You are homosexual/pansexual/hetero/asexuated? Good for you. But just don't trow this on my face everytime. ._.
