SOPA by Foedus-Stamps SOPA by Foedus-Stamps
SOPA and PIPA, where liberty dies in the form of censorship.

But it's funny to see the Americans all up in arms about this... But then they don't fucking care that Obama just gave the military the rights to tear them from their homes in the dead of night, and brand them as Terrorists.

The NDAA was passed by Obama about a week to two weeks ago.

SOPA is the next.

I've lost hope in my Government.

I don't know what SOPA and PIPA are all about. Are they about censoring the Internet?

(BTW, totally with you on Government. I have no faith in them anymore. )

On July 12, Internet Service Providers will take matters into their own hands and do on their own what SOPA and PIPA failed to do, unless we stop them immediately.

 Well, if the military now uses its right to tear you from your homes in the dead of night and brand
you as terrorrists, maybe you guys can finally see their unhuman ways, based on the naivité of
the citizens, to get rid of every 'enemy' of their greed.

To add:

Our government is extremely hypocritical... didn't mention that in depth and so wasn't sure that anyone actually realized that was what I had implied.

Our government is obviously corrupt. I don't see how these bills even got anywhere near passing as they're so blatantly unconstitutional. Obama is trying to turn us socialist, and it kills me to see the foundations our country was built on crumble away.

Our forefathers wanted to separate us from the imperialistic tyranny of Britain; to live in a place where they could govern and be governed while still having the basic rights and freedoms that we see (saw) in one of our founding documents, the Constitution. The very first amendment in our Constitution claims the rights of all American citizens to freedom of speech, press, and religion. Those have since expanded in our technological age to cover artistic works that have been posted on our digital devices. These laws would take away our right to share our works and expressions with the world. Is that any way to live?

The NDAA bill- it takes away our right to a trial by jury in the sixth amendment. Yet another of the basic freedoms stated in the Bill of Rights that is being taken away.

The United States are supposed to be a place where people can seek refuge from the oppression and censorship of their countries. Afterall, the internet is a form of media, and a government that controls the media, controls the amount of knowledge that it's citizens acquire. They wish to keep us in the dark... :(

The FEMA internment camps. They were only supposed to exist during natural disasters and the like. Unfortunately its known that they still exist and people have been taken to them despite there being no such occurances where it is necessary.

My faith in the government died out a long time ago. I may only be 17, but I'm not stupid. This is why education is so important. So things like this don't happen. Alas, they still try to take away our means of self-education through censorship of the internet. The claims that it is to stop internet piracy is all a ruse. Yes, that is a problem, but this is NOT the way to deal with it.

Sorry for such a long rant, but this is something I'm quite passionate about.

You should, it's the law that gives the US government and the military the right to detain citizens indefinitely on minor suspicions, or for reasons of their own.
