I'm Chinese. I just sort of looked unimpressed every time someone seriously says, "It's because I'm black, isn't it?" Oh, and that constant shoving of black history down our throats. I'd probably appreciate it a lot more if it wasn't so stagnant and repetitive. Ah, the American school system.
Sure, we have to remember, we fucking enslaved an entire race. But you know what. Other peoples suffered just as much.
I'm very stuid. Yes, I'm very stuid.
Don't act like I don't know anything about our history; do not underestimate me.
Your point, also, is lost in clashing with mine. Where I come from, our education is ruined by people who make their races look bad. I'm so tired of ghetto kids -- Asian, black, white, Hispanic, you name it -- coming in, disrupting us so badly each day is nothing short of unproductive. I'm so tired of people complaining so genuinely that theirs is such an awful plight because they're black -- and, that is all I have heard. Of course it is awful, but that's no excuse. And you know what? -- most of them are black or Hispanic. It helps that white people are rare where I come from, and that we Asians here are largely disciplined to huge measures because our parents are immigrants. Those ghettos, going around, use their racial histories to make asses of themselves. Excuses to instigate. Some of my closest friends are black and Hispanic -- we're the melting pot, so no surprise there -- and they despise those ghettos because they make their races look bad. At ghetto schools, classes are full of nothing but civil rights lessons, so one can imagine where the mentality came from. "Is it because I'm black?" No, it's because you're fucking delusional.
In class, all I have heard are these: The Holocaust and our history of slavery. And there lie the flaws in our education system -- stagnation. I would like to hear more about how the Irish worked on one side and the Chinese on the other to build the Transcontinental Railroad. I would like to hear more about Soviet war crimes. We steeple into new topics -- look, ma, there're MORE bad things happening in the world! -- and then go straight back to the age-old studies of slavery and the Holocaust. Never have I heard mention of Soviet war crimes in class. I actually cried out in shock when I heard the word "Nanking," because I'd never have expected them to mention it. When they mentioned the death march in the Philippines. Mentioning, mentioning, mentioning, and then...oh, shit, back to Frederick Douglass!
Of course there is racism today -- how could I not know? I am a Chinese female, for God's sake. My mother speaks horrible English, my brother told a guy to suck his dick when he told us to go back to China, and I coil to hold the appearance of the Chinese in America when I step outside diverse territory. It is advised that I wear a skirt instead of pants to interviews. When people see me, they don't see an American -- they see an Asian. I am not white, I am colored.
But it's not just black people. It's also Asians. Hispanics. Jews. Women...and it just keeps on petering. Trayvon Martin? -- how about Danny Chen? No, never heard of him? -- my point is made.
(I must say, though, I was very proud when my city actively protested Zimmerman's verdict: We are so diverse a part of America, made for change, and this -- this showed.)
I mean, kudos to America for actually trying, though. There are countries that have just lost themselves so much in their denial...
But there is more to that. The American people deserve better.
But, point in case -- you attacked based on miscommunication. Perhaps this shall translate a little better.
Tl;dr: Fuck youuuu~ Fuck you very, very muu-uuuch~
So, you like Hetalia?
