I'm Chinese. I just sort of looked unimpressed every time someone seriously says, "It's because I'm black, isn't it?" Oh, and that constant shoving of black history down our throats. I'd probably appreciate it a lot more if it wasn't so stagnant and repetitive. Ah, the American school system.
Sure, we have to remember, we fucking enslaved an entire race. But you know what. Other peoples suffered just as much.
I'm very stuid. Yes, I'm very stuid.
Don't act like I don't know anything about our history; do not underestimate me.
Your point, also, is lost in clashing with mine. Where I come from, our education is ruined by people who make their races look bad. I'm so tired of ghetto kids -- Asian, black, white, Hispanic, you name it -- coming in, disrupting us so badly each day is nothing short of unproductive. I'm so tired of people complaining so genuinely that theirs is such an awful plight because they're black -- and, that is all I have heard. Of course it is awful, but that's no excuse. And you know what? -- most of them are black or Hispanic. It helps that white people are rare where I come from, and that we Asians here are largely disciplined to huge measures because our parents are immigrants. Those ghettos, going around, use their racial histories to make asses of themselves. Excuses to instigate. Some of my closest friends are black and Hispanic -- we're the melting pot, so no surprise there -- and they despise those ghettos because they make their races look bad. At ghetto schools, classes are full of nothing but civil rights lessons, so one can imagine where the mentality came from. "Is it because I'm black?" No, it's because you're fucking delusional.
In class, all I have heard are these: The Holocaust and our history of slavery. And there lie the flaws in our education system -- stagnation. I would like to hear more about how the Irish worked on one side and the Chinese on the other to build the Transcontinental Railroad. I would like to hear more about Soviet war crimes. We steeple into new topics -- look, ma, there're MORE bad things happening in the world! -- and then go straight back to the age-old studies of slavery and the Holocaust. Never have I heard mention of Soviet war crimes in class. I actually cried out in shock when I heard the word "Nanking," because I'd never have expected them to mention it. When they mentioned the death march in the Philippines. Mentioning, mentioning, mentioning, and then...oh, shit, back to Frederick Douglass!
Of course there is racism today -- how could I not know? I am a Chinese female, for God's sake. My mother speaks horrible English, my brother told a guy to suck his dick when he told us to go back to China, and I coil to hold the appearance of the Chinese in America when I step outside diverse territory. It is advised that I wear a skirt instead of pants to interviews. When people see me, they don't see an American -- they see an Asian. I am not white, I am colored.
But it's not just black people. It's also Asians. Hispanics. Jews. Women...and it just keeps on petering. Trayvon Martin? -- how about Danny Chen? No, never heard of him? -- my point is made.
(I must say, though, I was very proud when my city actively protested Zimmerman's verdict: We are so diverse a part of America, made for change, and this -- this showed.)
I mean, kudos to America for actually trying, though. There are countries that have just lost themselves so much in their denial...
But there is more to that. The American people deserve better.
But, point in case -- you attacked based on miscommunication. Perhaps this shall translate a little better.
Tl;dr: Fuck youuuu~ Fuck you very, very muu-uuuch~
So, you like Hetalia?
Oh, my apologies, good on you for catching my minor spelling error/typo. I shall now correct it to make you feel better. *stupid. Does that make you feel better, hun? Now you're *stupid.
Let me give you a simple crash course on a little thing called culture. Culture is the structural norm of a group of people/citizens that dictate how the group behaves and communicate, ultimately boiling down to expression of self. So, dear one, what makes how black people- or how you put it, "black, white, Asian, Hispanic"- "ghetto?" What other culture do you have to compare where the behavior of "typically black" people seems so unruly? I'm guessing European culture~...
And no, the education system isn't failing because of our "ghetto" students. It's because the quality-trained instructors go off to majority-white suburban schools to teach there, where the students who act out of line get away with it because hey, it's okay, they might have a mental/learning disability that can be diagnosed and fixed with medicine and after-school tutors specially trained to handle disabled students. Which leaves rural/urban schools with what? Poorly-trained teachers who come in with the same mentality as the rest of America: that these black and Hispanic students are automatically going to be unruly and unteachable, and that any behavior not suitable for class, that any failing grades these students might have, can only mean that black and Hispanic students are wasting away their education and the teachers' time. Never mind the fact that just like those same white students, black students can- and often do- suffer from learning disabilities and many other mental disabilities as well, made worse by the poverty and lack of resources available to help them when needed. So nope, try harder with the “ghetto students are ruining our education, uwah!” crap.
And did you really try to insult people who refuse to take white bullcrap and educate themselves on civil rights, while in this same damn country of ours, white people- especially in Southern states- are trying to rewrite black history and history of black slavery to make themselves look more like heroes and saints and less like the perpetrators, when they've succeeded in rewriting Native American history so much that little kids are reciting the old bullshit “pilgrims and Indians were friends” during Thanksgiving? Are you really trying to sell that bullcrap to me and calling me and many others “delusional” for not buying it while white people all over the world still believe that they were the catalyst of human civilization and progress and that the many inventions and mathematical/astrological concepts were created by them and black and Native American people were just useless savages? Oh, you make me laugh. As of right now, black students are still being taught that President Lincoln was all for racial equality, while the textbooks conveniently leave out the fact that he held just as much white supremacist views as any other white person of that time and now, and that the only reason he was for emancipation was because he needed black soldiers whom fought for much lower pay than the white officers. I am in fucking college, and never have I learned about this during my lessons of civil rights and civil wars in high school. All those talks about civil rights are still white washed, apparently: www.salon.com/2013/03/16/the_s…
And yes, I am calling you out on your bullshit about black people using our history to "make us look bad." Tell me, when was the last time a white person was severely punished with ridicule/bullying/etc. for "acting ghetto?" For taking on black culture as if it was some fucking fashion trend? For the many instances, almost zero get ridicule for it, because they're so "edgy" and they're "appreciating" black culture, while black people- or anyone else nonwhite, really- get bullshit like your comment for behaving, dressing, talking, whatever like our culture dictates. Take the Miley Cyrus scandal for instance; she was twerking- an actual African culture dance based on fertility- and using black women as props on stage during the VMAs, and no one gave a shit about how she was using black bodies and black dance only that her dancing and performance was vulgar. Yet black women get shit all the time for doing the same damn dance created within our culture. We have white people still black facing and red facing (like wearing Native American costumes). All of this is called cultural appropriation, when people of different cultures (with mostly white people doing this shit) take on different cultural aspects and wear/use it like some damn trend, and yet have the audacity to condemn the originators of said cultural aspects and correlating it to savagery of sorts.
And now we reach the “But what about the people who weren't used as chattel slaves but still got killed in wars they caused but still succeeded in life at the expense of racial minorities” topic of discussion, where the white supremacist apologist try to use the ineffective Kumbaya mentality and the High School Musical “We're all in this together” (if your statement about the Irish and Chinese building that railroad is anything to go by). But this little white supremacist apologist seemed to have overlooked one little thing: not everyone got a piece of that American freedom pie he/she oh-so praises. While the Chinese and Irish and whomever got jobs and opportunities, black Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanic Americans were passed up all the freaking time, only getting lucky if they could find work in servitude with even less pay than the Irish workers. And the Soviet war crimes that reeked with European superiority complex? It seemed like your amazing school is doing a damn fine job of teaching if you were able to learn about that in the midst of all that “black and Jew complaining” regurgitated through lessons of the Holocaust and civil rights movements.
Good job on being able to call out white racism in your lifetime, though; now if only you weren't shitting on black people who call out the instances of racism that happens to them as well and excusing the racism as just “black people acting like asses.” But I guess I can't really blame you for doing so; I read from somewhere that ass-kissing the dominant, oppressive group is a coping mechanism that some nonwhite people- including the black and Hispanics you mentioned- take up.
And I'm glad that you were able to hear about Trayvon Martin, a young boy whose death wouldn't have even been known if it wasn't for the recording of the police call where he was actually crying out for help in sheer agony in the background and whose medical examiner clearly stated that the wounds on Zimmerman's body as well as the wounds on Martin's corpse clearly showed that Zimmerman was lying. But do tell me, while we black people were constantly bombarding the media with this case and white teens making a mockery of Martin's death with #Trayvoning, have you gotten the chance to hear about Marissa Alexander? Were you able to learn about Cece MacDonald? Or what about that Chicago shooting that killed 13 black people, including 3-year-old Deonta Howard? What about the attack of peaceful black protestors by white students with bleach-filled balloons at the University of Texas, have you heard of that? You've heard of the police raid in Detroit that ended the life of seven-year-old Aiyana Jones, I'm sure? Oh, I bet that since you're so knowledgeable of anti-black racism and what constitutes as racism and what doesn't, I guess all of these are just black people being delusional about racism, and we should just stop "acting like asses" in order to get white people off our fucking backs.
“But, point in case -- you attacked based on miscommunication.” Oh, I'm so sorry, I did not know that when you were specifically pointing out black people's behavior in your little comment, that you were talking about everyone who take on African culture and behavior and that it was simply “miscommunication.” LOL, yes, sure, hun.
And I'll end this one with a good fuck you to you, too~!
