GENERALIZING OMIGAWD by Foedus-Stamps GENERALIZING OMIGAWD by Foedus-Stamps
So, I've noticed many of the times on my stamps, people use the same excuse to be offended by them.

I THEENK UR GENERALYZEENG

My response has always been. "Well I'm sorry for thinking you are smart enough to weed out the differences yourself."

I've noticed this society has always needed everything spelled out for them right away, they can never have the ability to really think for themselves. Automatically if something isn't in an Artist Comment or a description that helps them pull out the exceptions themselves, they have a motherfucking COW.

Well, no. I will NOT be catering to your need for a full explanation on who and what is not included in my 'generalizations' for you. And if you can't think of them yourself, well then, you're of no worth or value to me.

Sorry if I offended your stupid.

Beautiful.
This pisses me off so much in so many debates ... "So you're saying all religious people are stupid?" - "No, but you're apparently among them, dipshit."

This describes most fandoms;

Sonic fans - Retards and furries. When there are some that are rational .... And not all of us are attracted to anthropomorphic animals.

MLP fans - Manchildren who fap to cartoon ponies made for little girls, and on occasion, are pedos. This is a common complaint, nut there are some good fans who love the storyline, and the show itself, it does not feel it is targeted towards little girls anymore, while the majority of the fanbase is male, what's the harm? And yes I know there are some weird pony fan.

But hey, there's the weird portion, and a normal portion of any given fanbase.

I hate it when people generalize but then get butthurt if someone generalizes their race/religion/sex/fandom/etc. I personally would rather NOT generalize because I wouldn't want someone to generalize me in any shape or form. I'm aware it happens anyways, I just would rather not like to see it with my own eyes. So this opinion is debatable, it just depends on how you look at it.

Ugh, I love this.

You can't criticize the behaviors and such of certain groups without apologists going "not all of us are like that!" "so you think all -x- are like that?!"

A straw man response that is all too common.  I even have to restrain myself at times from using it.

It's common when people point out differences in religion/race and crime.

Not all -x-s commit crimes, but some groups commit crime at greater percentages relative to their population than other groups.

Well its nice that you think that but a lot of people on this site are not that smart and if you wanted to play things more safely (which I kind of doubt you would) you would have to be more specific.

I remember on Facebook I wrote a status that said,"before bashing the opposite gender recognize your own flaws." Which I was referring to people who go through bad relationships and two of my ex- friends got offended because I was "generalizing"

Kinda like how I'm always trying to make my friends to realise what the flaws in everything they're saying is.
It gets kinda sad at times.

I've always been of a mind that assuming stuff is a bad route to take.... Also, why should I waste my time figuring out what you were trying to say when it wasn't important enough for you to bother being specific?

I swear I have to spell stuff like this out in all of my descriptions. And god forbid I leave one, teeny detail out, or someone throws a fit.

I think we could use a bit more generalizations, honestly. "You're stubborn!" Well no shit, everyone is. It's a human thing. There are thousands of things that are global aspects that everybody possesses, but people like to call those things out of a specific person or group of people as if they were the only ones flawed in that manner.

Your point is pretty weak by comparison because you could be more accurate by putting "most" somewhere in your assertion.

Much of the time, I DO put 'Most' in my descriptions. I just don't care anymore.

Yeah, I've noticed people never notice it. I think I might just start accidentally typing "most most" and see if anyone notices then.

This stamp is lovely, by the way.

You assume they think you're smart enough to take exceptions into account.

I'm not criticizing you or anything (I mean, you're obviously smart enough to do so), but a many people think most people are pretty damn stupid. :XD:
And rightly so, most of the time.

Though, I do agree.

You speak with too little certainty. Absolutely /everyone/ assumes stupidity. There are no exceptions.

Such as my statement "I hate bronies." I don't hate people because they like a show. I hate the obsessive ones that WORSHIP the things.

I think that's a pretty common thing for stampmakers to have to endure... I mean, you can only fit so much into a stamp before it gets to be too crowded or too gaudy. You'd think it'd be obvious that there are some exceptions to broad statements in stamps, but apparently not, haha.

Like, for example, when you say you hate how religious people stuff their beliefs down your throat and then someone goes "HEY! WE DON'T ALL DO THAT!"

If the shoe fits, wear it, if not, ignore it. That's what I say, most of the time when people talk about a certain group, they aren't referring to all people in that group, just the extremists and or stereotypes.

To be honest, I'm guilty of this, but only because there are too many people who assume that we all do that. Your comment has a very good thought. I'll keep it in mind.

Also, nice icon.

Happens to me all the goddamn time. Even when I say, in the description, that for example, a stamp doesn't apply to everyone, there are still tartlets throwing a tantrum because I didn't cram into a 99x56 box a little notice saying 'This doesn't include X'.

I only complain about that kind of stuff because I know there's people who can't figure it out themselves. But I do agree with you, though.
